Değilim (I’m not) was performed by Abdulnur Akyuz, Turkish artist based in Beirut. The performance discusses Islamophobia, Xenophobia, and it criticizes the law that doesn't allow a Lebanese mother to give citizenship to her children. The performance focuses on the artist, surrounded by four mirrors depicting the issues above and the inner freedom finally arising from artistic expression.

The work was performed on Friday January 24 at 10:30 am in Beirut, Lebanon.

* A term used by some communities to blame Turkish citizens on the events of 1915.

*In Lebanon, The law doesn't allow for the Lebanese women to give the citizenship to her children.

I was born with all the labels, but I'm FREE.
